Art Business Reset
March 31 :: 90-minute work session :: Recording included
At the beginning of the year, you made a plan, set goals, or made resolutions.
We’re now creeping up on the end of the first quarter.
Some of your plan has happened (yay you!) and, if you’re like most, some of it didn’t (oops).
There’s no sense getting mad or frustrated about what you haven’t yet acted on.
A better plan for this point forward is to recalibrate. To do a quick review of your business.
In this 90-minute work session, I’ll guide you through 6 areas of your art business, the same areas I examine with every private client.
We won’t be talking about your studio practice. That’s your domain and it stays that way. We’re looking at everything that supports and surrounds it: how you’re reaching people, how your business is structured, and where the real opportunities are.
You’ll leave with a clear picture of where your energy is going, where it isn’t, and where your highest-leverage move is as you head into the next season.
The goal: to find your highest-leverage move — the one shift that would make the biggest difference right now.
We’ll examine …
- How effectively you’re using your email list to connect with collectors and buyers
- Is social media working for you or just a distraction?
- Income streams and whether they align with the work you actually want to make
- What people find when they arrive at your website and whether your writing is doing its job
- The place of shows, exhibitions, and collection releases
- The business systems holding everything together (or not)

I did what you told me to do and within 17 hours I sold a painting—as a DIRECT result of what you suggested. It was so instant, it creeped me out. —Rebecca Finch
An honest look at your business is the first step toward improving the results from all your efforts.

About Me
I’ve helped thousands of artists build sustainable, intentional businesses over more than two decades.
I’m the host of The Art Biz podcast, author of I’d Rather Be in the Studio, and founder of Art Biz Success. Before launching my consulting practice in 2002, I spent a decade as a curator and educator in art museums, an experience that still shapes how I see artists and their work.
I am blessed to work privately with a select number of artists each year.
