Creating a Content Calendar

ON DEMAND

This is for you if ...

For the purposes of this workshop, content is ...

Words and/or images you use to promote your art online.

A post to Instagram (image + text)

A video (IG reels, TikTok, YouTube)

A livestream or webinar

An email or email newsletter

A blog post

A podcast episode

Your head may be bursting with ideas for what content to create next.

Lucky you! Your only problems are what to prioritize and how to keep track of those ideas and what to prioritize.

Or you could just as easily be so overwhelmed that nothing is coming to mind.

I've been in both situations so I get it.

There are many days I'd like to disappear under the covers and forget that making content is one of my primary responsibilities.

Needless to say, this doesn't help things.

It may feel good temporarily, but  I end up feeling even worse that I neglected such an important part of a healthy business.

In Creating a Content Calendar, you will identify a personal system that will make sharing content easier and more fun.

I'll tell you what works for me, but this isn't about me. It's about what works for you. And there's no single way to do this.

I'll be coaching you as if you were my private client to create your own customized content calendar.

This workshop covers ...

2 Shortcuts that will save you from having to use too many brain cells on content creation

Options for storing your content ideas so that you have plenty to choose from when you need them

Simple ways to organize your photos and writing so that they're easy to find, edit, and use

My top secret for generating an endless supply of content ideas

Want to rewatch portions? Speed it up? Slow it down? No worries. Watch again and again from our learning center or download and keep forever.

We catch things in writing that we might miss when we hear or see it. I give you my complete set of 15 pages of notes, which is easier to read than a transcript. It gets right to the point.

  4. Your Content Time (weekly checklist)

Everything is yours to download and keep forever!

We won't cover ...

How to hack social media by chasing the algorithms.

Again, I want you to use social media in a way that works for you. I'm uninterested in what “the experts” say is the best time, date, and content to post. I want you to enjoy your content creation and work from a place of authenticity.

Specific content ideas.

These are covered in my Optimize Your Online Marketing program, of which this one workshop is a part. You'll get an opportunity to access that content if you think it will be beneficial. Or you can enroll in it right now, including this workshop and 4 months of community support for creating your content.

Repurposing your content to make the most of it.

Again, this is part of my Optimize Your Online Marketing program, of which this one workshop is one lesson.

Alyson Stanfield sitting in a directors chair wearing black sweater

Hi. I'm Alyson Stanfield.

I'm the chief instigator here.

In 2001 I left my safe job as a director of education at an art museum to pursue work that was more meaningful to me. I didn't know much about building businesses, but I knew how to create content because it was my primary role in the museum.

I built Art Biz Success by creating content on a blog (starting 2004), social media (since 2007), two different podcasts, and a weekly newsletter for 16 years. (It's “almost weekly” now. 😉)

This was long before I made a video. Long before we ever heard of reels, Facebook, or Instagram.

I'm the author of I'd Rather Be in the Studio: The Artist's No-Excuse Guide to Self-Promotion, leader of Artist Planning Sessions, and host of The Art Biz podcast. I love to work with clients with a growth mindset who challenge themselves with increasingly prestigious goals.
