    Yes, Robin. I am positive. It is the museum (and artworld) standard. Pick up any museum catalog or any book on art and all work will be HxWxD. Contemporary quiltmakers have to relearn this because all quilt “patterns” are in WxH. Photographers are used to stating measurements according to paper size–regardless of orientation. Interior design is a different world. In the artworld–the world of museums and galleries and art festivals–it’s HxWxD.

  3. An easy way to remember this is HoWDy. A lot of professions use measurement sequences differently. For instance, if you are communicating with someone for pedestal building, make sure to follow your measurements with a defining letter, for example 40″H x 15″W x 15″D.
