It’s possible to make more money and find a little more peace of mind by making a few tweaks in how you approach your art business.
My guest for this episode of The Art Biz tells you how she has done it.
When Monique Carr reached out to me a couple of years ago for a private coaching partnership, she had just adopted this motto for her art business:
Half the work, twice the money, and have FUN in whatever I do.
It’s this brilliant sentence that guides our partnership and her everyday decisions.
During our conversation, Monique shares:
- The breakdown of her income streams and how they have evolved.
- How she uses her email list for students and collectors.
- Why she was motivated to do a Black Friday sale after working on her money plan with me and noticing that her gallery sales were down for the year.
I love how Monique takes action without complaining. She figures out what needs to be done and does it.

“[On my calendar] there’s a square and I put painting day. Don’t bother me, nobody can call me. It’s my day, so this is the only thing I’m going to do. It’s because I do the planning sessions with you.”—Monique
