Liberating Art from the Galleries

The Denver Post recently (6/18) featured the Sculpture Trail at Lyons, the brainstorm of sculptor John King. The website states:

The Sculpture Trail™ at Lyons is an interactive art journey woven into the fabric of the town of Lyons, Colorado and its natural surroundings. It is a themed trail involving more than 60 pieces of sculptural art installed at a variety of locations amongst the buildings of the town center as well as natural areas of park and riverside. The sculpture trail is fun, inventive, interactive, and easy to understand and enjoy – nothing like art in stuffy museums. The Trail is traveled on foot and takes 1 to 2 hours to complete.

The Sculpture Trail at Lyons website shows you what a single artist thinking outside of the box can do in his or her community.
