Light Display Brings Attention to Painter

I often mention artist Joe Murray when I’m talking about creative self promotion.

Joe lives in a rural area outside of Des Moines, Iowa. He attended my workshop there a couple of years ago.

Joe uses his Christmas-light display to promote himself and his work and to connect with community. This year, he’s featured in the Des Moines Register with some terrific photos in an article that weaves together his painting and light display. Sometimes (heck, lots of the time), you have to go through the back door to get media attention.

Congratulations, Joe!
