Making It as an Artist in the Heartland

Kaneko1I’m a huge fan of Jun Kaneko and was thrilled to see Michael Kimmelman’s article about Kaneko in today’s New York Times.

I encourage you to watch the video. Note that Kaneko calls Nebraska home and runs a studio in Kansas. Also, note that he couldn’t have the studio set up he requires in a place with high-rent real estate. He is proof that artists can make it and, more importantly, thrive in the center of the country.
