A more personal posting this holiday . . .
As you read this, I recovering from a delightful Christmas Eve with close friends. (Thanks to TypePad’s ability to delay postings!) Hopefully, the dishes (I refuse to use paper and plastic) are washed and I got a good night’s sleep. I am opening packages, sipping on eggnog, and absolutely loving the surprised look on my husband’s face as he opens his VSG (very special gift): Petzl Nomic Leashless Ice Tools. (I know, I had no idea either. Thanks very much to his friend and fellow-climber, Bob!)
My lovely in-laws are driving up from Colorado Springs for the day. I’m delighted to host them as I have often been a guest in their home for Christmas and it’s nice to return the favor. I’ll be serving:
Curried Pumpkin Soup
Pork Tenderloin with Red Pepper Jelly
Sauteed Spinach
Mashed Cauliflower with Herbs
Chocolate-Pecan Pie with Gluten-Free Crust
Oh, yes, did I mention eggnog?
Mery Christmas to all!

Happy Holidays, Alyson! Thank you for the blessings you share here. Your words of wisdom are centering and grounding for us “dreamer” types, just exactly what we need. This past Holiday collection of posts have been really wonderful and needed by so many. Wishing you the very best Holidays and a wonderful New Year!

Merry Christmas to you Alyson. I must say your meal sounds very yummy. As I post this I am recovering from Christmas which was yesterday in Aussie land. I had a wonderful time with my three kids and two of their partners and of cause my husband. All the best for the new year and I look forward to your posts. Cheers!
Happy New Year. Thank you for sharing Christmas with us. I have enjoyed the Top Fives, and Monday’s Art Marketing Action. I had David Allen’s Getting Things Done in my stocking, so today, I took action on the office. All my boxes and piles sorted into one IN box and one paper grocery bag of trash. Wow. It feels doable now! Very important question. Does the eggnog keep in the refrigerator for a day or so? After this job is done, I am going to make some, but I don’t think I can get everyone over here on the same day to drink it with me.
The eggnog is BEST the second day, but put it in the freezer if you can so it can thicken up. YUM!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. I was very sick over Christmas so missed out on all the fun this year, I’ve never tried eggnog before and I must admit it doesn’t sound very appealing. What is it exactly?
I just noticed the gluten-free pie crust in your blog entry, and wondered if that meant you were Celiac and/or completely GF. My wife makes a wonderful chocolate pecan pie that is gluten-free as well. Wonder how they’d compare? Well, if you are ever looking for any more GF recipes, stop by and check out my blog — I have some good breads, pizza-crust, and even dessert recipes available.
Well, I don’t know how I got this extra “G” in front of my URL on that last post, but the link to my gluten-free blog where all the recipes I mentioned can be found is: http://gluten-free-blog.blogspot.com sorry about the extra post just to correct the link 🙂
