If you missed the call last week, you can still get the recording for a limited time. And it’s amazing! I interview creativity coach Eric Maisel to find out how to avoid art career overwhelm. In the 30-minute recording, Eric points to 6 specific situations in which artists feel overwhelmed:
1. Not knowing which thing to do.
2. Having too many small things to do.
3. Not enough successes or payoffs.
4. Finding your work boring or meaningless
5. Not knowing how to present yourself.
6. Not liking your own work.
He then shows how to use the incantations from his book, Ten Zen Seconds, to overcome overwhelm. Download or listen to the recording online.

I just finished listening to the free recording on Ten Zen Seconds. Thank you, Alyson. About a month ago when I was feeling like an unsuccessful artist, I decided to create a painting especially for a very special couple who have been great friends to my husband and I. They always wanted a painting of mine but do not have the financial means to do so. I thought of the meaning of “abundance” and decided to allow it to flow through me and think of giving instead of receiving. I gave the painting to the couple yesterday and they were surprised and thrilled to have it. I felt the same sensations as if I had sold the painting.
This recording is such a helpful resource (it’s going on my ipod). My paintings have been experiencing more attention and positive feedback lately, but not any significant financial payoffs. The incantation “I expect nothing” has immediately put me at ease with it all and I feel more at peace and less anxious with my current show. Thank you, Alyson, for sharing this recording!
