Journaling Prompts for Artists

Since I think writing and journaling are invaluable for an artist’s career, I thought I’d send along some help for those dry times.

What do you write about when nothing comes to mind? Try some of these:

  • The first thing I made that I considered art was . . .
  • The piece of art that I’ve seen in person that blows me away is . . .
  • The piece of art I most want to see in person is . . .
  • If I could have a conversation with any artist–living or dead–it would be . . .

Need more ideas? Cynthia Morris has some great thoughts about writing on the road–capturing your trip before you lose the memories.

Stay tuned for more about journaling.
