You are meant to be where you are

Something my yoga instructor said yesterday in class seemed appropriate to share here. She said: “Wherever you are in your practice today is where you are meant to be.”

I spend so much time trying to motivate artists to take action that I forget to remind you how important it is to honor your current situation. Don’t fight it. Don’t try to be something you’re not. And don’t take on more than you can handle without losing balance.

  1. So often we go through the “woulda, coulda, shoulda” routine, lamenting that we aren’t in a different place, but I agree with your yoga instructor. We are where we are supposed to be. There is a lesson to be learned where we are now. We can direct our path by taking positive action, but we also need to expect and appreciate the things that just happen. Enjoy each day to its fullest. Appreciate where you are today and learn from its lessons.
