News Releases–What NOT to Do

I just got a news release from what I think is a pastel society somewhere (based on the subject line). I guess that’s what it is, but maybe it’s an invitation, or an announcement. I have no idea what it is. Why? Because it was mailed as a Word document attachment. The email message itself was blank. There wasn’t even a name or signature!

Newsflash! People don’t open attachments if they don’t know you!

Put the news in the body of an email and have any attachments be gravy. You have to entice people to look at your stuff.
